Psalms 89:34: My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.
Today the word integrity doesn’t really mean much to people. To some it’s just a word. But the word integrity is actually what sums up a person’s character and virtue. Needless to say that it is rare amongst humans, but still found in only a few.
This is how the scriptures put it: Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” That means it is the nature of the natural man to fail or lie. Though sometimes, he may not want to fail or lie, but he is not always in control of all the factors involved. We must add here that the fact there is an urge to tell a lie, means man should at all times make effort not to lie. That man is a sexual being, is not reason to engage in sexual promiscuity and the sort.
The only way the natural man will live up to expectation is when he has some part of Divinity in him. That is one who has the fear of God. One whom God influences. One whose life is governed by the word of God.
So it is the God-factor in man that generates the integrity in man. The God-factor births the consciousness of the need and importance to turn away from evil and do good. Integrity is so important to God that He took an oath to keep to the word He promised Abraham.
Jeremiah 11:5 That I may perform the oath which I have sworn unto your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day. Then answered I, and said, So be it, O Lord. Again I say; God is not a man that he should lie. One thing He cannot do is lie. Needless to say no matter how hard He tries because He can never lie.
Why then do men lie;
1) because they are afraid of consequences.
2) To impress people
3) To manipulate others and manipulate themselves out of situation.
4)when they are under pressure.
Now if you know a thing about God, you know that is not the case with him. He doesn’t need to lie cos He is not afraid of anything or any one.
He doesn’t need to impress no one cos He is the most high.
He doesn’t need to manipulate cos He has given us free will.
He does not need to manipulate Himself out of anything circumstance because He is never in a fix. He is the all knowing God. He is never in a situation but stands outside time and determines the situation.
While men are more concerned about their name and image, God is more concerned about His word. He places His Word above all else because his word is his bond.
Do as you begin a new month today, decide to put ALL your trust in this credible and incredible God. The one that has never told a lie and can never fail. Your case will not be the first case for Him to fail.
What that means is whatever He has said to you, you can stake your life on it. And you can take it to the bank, and be sure that it won’t bounce (smiling). You can bet your life on it.
So child of God, pay close attention to whatever He tells you this month because He will be speaking a lot. All you need to do is listen to what He says over your matter. His word commands more influence and power. His word is like a bank cheque that doesn’t bounce. The cheque in your possession doesn’t mean anything until it is presented for clearing at the bank. So too with his words. You have to present his word by saying it back to him and believing. It is your place to cash in on whatever He says believing like a child. Remember what Mary the mother of Jesus told the disciples in the Gospel of John. Do whatever he tells you. One thing you can be sure of is that his word won’t fail can rewrite your story and that means IT WON’T BOUNCE. His word will not fail because he is credible and incredible.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: God has never told a lie and has never failed. He won’t start in your own case.
PRAYERS: Incredible God, I believe in you. Perfect all that concerns me in this month of July.
