The Israelites had to go through the wilderness to get to the promise land. While in the desert, God fed them with manna from heaven. It was miraculous provision; yet, they got tired of eating the same food every day. They said, “Moses, we want some meat to eat out here.”
Moses thought, “That’s impossible. Meat out here in the desert?” That’s steak for some two million people. There were no grocery stores, shopping malls, no place to buy food. But God has ways to increase you that you have never thought of. God simply shifted the direction of the wind and caused a huge flock of quail to fly through the Israelites camp. The people didn’t even have to go after it. The food came to them. What is most interesting is that quails don’t normally travel that far away from the water. If there had not been a strong wind, the quail would have never made it way out there in the desert. What am I saying? God knows how to get your provision to you.
What do you need today? What are the desires of your heart? God’s grace is sufficient. He is able to make all grace abound so that in all times, you have everything you need. (2 Corinth 9:8)Trust Him to bring increase in unexpected ways.
We would all have to face dark and difficult times. But we also have to remind ourselves nothing takes our God by surprise. He is not up in the heavens scratching His head, and pacing the rooms in the heavens saying, “Oh, he got laid off. That would mess up everything.” “Oh, she was diagnosed with cancer. It’s a pity.” “You mean Joseph was thrown into a pit.” “When did Mercedes lost her father”. ” You mean she can’t carry a baby?” Oh! Now what am I going to do?” No, that is not God. He knows everything and knows exactly how the story will end. Ps 139:16, Scripture says He has already written every day of your life in His book. The good news is that if you will stay in faith, not minding what comes your way, you can always tell how the story ends.
The next time you face an unexpected challenge, remember, it does not surprise God. He already has the answer, the provision, the healing you need. Keep standing, keep praying, keep hoping and keep believing that your story is not over until it story ends in Victory.
In Scripture, recorded in Judges 6:12 we see a name God called one of His sons. God called Gideon a mighty man of valor. Now Gideon looked around and said, “God couldn’t be talking about me. I come from the poorest family. I am the least one in my Father’s house.” Gideon saw himself as weak, defeated and not able. But God saw him as strong, confident and more than a conqueror. In the same way God calls you too.
The question is: Are you going to believe what God says about you? Or are we going to believe what we feel, what we think, what the circumstances look like? You may feel weak today, but God calls you strong. You may feel like a victim, but God calls you a victor. You may be afraid, but God calls you confident. You may be in debt, but God calls you prosperous. You may be sick, but God calls you well. You may be addicted, but God calls you free. You may feel inadequate, but God calls you well able.
Let us get into agreement with God. No matter what the circumstances look like, we just have to see ourselves as God sees us and accept the name He calls us.
Isaiah 27:5 said, “Take hold of His strength.” When you make this declaration, “I can handle it,” that is not just you being positive. But with faith you are taking hold of His strength. You are making His strength yours. When you say and believe it, you will getting stronger. You understand now, why scripture says, “Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’ ” If always talk about the problem, “I can’t stand this job.” “This boss is so difficult. I’ll never work well with him.” “My loved one didn’t make it. I don’t know what I am going to do.” All those negative talk and thoughts drains and weakened you. When you speak defeat, strength is leaves. Energy is leaves. Creativity is leaves. Don’t let those things overwhelm you. Don’t let them get the best of you. You are not a victim; you are a victor!
As we step into a new day and week, no matter what comes your way, you and God can handle it! You are ready for it and equal to it. If you will stay in agreement with God, He will take what is meant for your harm and use it to your advantage. That difficulty won’t defeat you. It will promote you into the life of blessing and victory He has in store for you.
A yoke is something that is put around the neck of an ox to help control the animal. It limits its movement. If the ox starts to get off course, the yoke is used to pull it back. Even though an ox is very powerful, this small yoke keeps it from doing what it wants to do.
Some people don’t realize today that they are living with a yoke around their neck. They wonder why they can’t get ahead or why everything is a struggle. It is because of the yokes that are dragging them down. Negative words that were spoken over you can become a yoke. Every time you start to step out, you hear that voice, that parent, that coach saying, “You’re not that talented; you don’t have what it takes.” It plays again and again. Eventually, you shrink back. That’s a yoke.
Today, know that God’s burden-moving, yoke-destroying power will set you free! (Is 10:27). Call on Him and let Him set you free from every bondage of the past. Choose to forgive and release the yoke of bitterness. Don’t go around being burdened any longer. Study His Word and let His anointing set you free to live in total victory.
Aren’t you glad God didn’t just stop at a 2nd chance? He gave a 3rd, a 4th, a 5th and He is still giving.
It’s easy to go through life focused on what didn’t work out, who hurt us, or the mistakes we’ve made. “If only I would have finished college. If only I would have spent more time with my children. If only that company wouldn’t have laid me off after 20 years. That’s just not right.”
As long as you’re living in regret, focused on the negative things of the past, it’s going to keep you from the bright future God has in store. You’ve got to let go of what didn’t work out. Let go of the hurts and pain. Let go of your disappointments and failures. You can’t do anything about the past, but you can do something about right now. Whether it happened 20 years ago or 20 minutes ago, let it go and move forward. If you keep bringing negative baggage from yesterday into today, it will poison your future. You may have had an unfair past, but you don’t have to have an unfair future. You may have gotten off to a rough start in life, but it’s not how you start that matters. It’s how you finish.
We all face difficulties and challenges in life. But you have to remember, as a believer in Jesus, you have the life-giving seed of God on the inside of you. When you go through disappointments or tough times, you may feel like you have been buried. You may feel like you are in a dark, lonely place. You may feel like it is the end; but in reality, it is only the beginning. The fact is, life can’t bury you. You have only been planted. That means you are coming back. That means better days ahead. That means greater achievements.
In those tough times, you have to draw the line in the sand. You have to make a declaration, “This difficulty is not going to bury me. This loss, this disappointment, this injustice is not going to cause me to give up on my dreams. I refuse to live in self-pity. I know I am a seed. That means I cannot be buried. I can only be planted. I may be down, but it is only temporary. I know I am not only coming back, but I am coming back even better and stronger than I was before!”
We all face situations in life that feel out of control. During times like these, it gets very easy to be discouraged allowing fear to creep in. But instead, of focusing on the problem, why don’t you focus on the fact expressed in Is 41:10, that God is holding you in the palm of His hand. There is nothing difficult for Him. With Him nothing is impossible. Nothing is beyond His ability. When God holds you in His hand, you are safe. You are cared for. In His hand, there is victory. In His hand, there is strength. In His hand, there is provision. In His hand is everything you need.
No matter what you may be going through today, you can trust that God is for you. Instead of getting down and depressed over your circumstances, look up and get a vision of God turning that situation around. Let faith arise in your heart and focus on His favor, promotion and blessing. See yourself in the palm of His hand, and see the victory and blessing He has prepared for you!
Have you ever considered the power of the statement, “I am”? What follows these two simple words will determine what kind of life you live. “I am blessed. I am strong. I am healthy.” Or, “I am slow. I am unattractive. I am stupid.” The “I am’s” that are coming out of your mouth will bring either success or failure. All through the day the power of “I am” is at work in our minds. Many times we use the power of “I am” against us. We don’t realize how it’s affecting our future.
“You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you…”
Here’s the principle. Scripture says if you use my name, it is a memorial for all generations ( Ex 3:15). When you say “I am” the moment the world hears I am, what follows “I am” will comes looking for you. The good news is that you get to choose what follows the “I am.” When you go through the day saying, “I am blessed,” blessings come looking for you. “I am talented.” Talent comes looking for you. You may not feel up to par but when you say, “I am healthy,” health starts heading your way. “I am strong.” Strength starts tracking you down. What you add to the I am, is what you are inviting into your life. Get up in the morning and invite good things into your life and family. Declare “I am blessed. I am strong. I am wealthy. I am disciplined. I am focused. I am prosperous.” And always make sure God’s truth follows “I am”.
