BUT GOD

Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?” [Jer. 32:27]

When we find ourselves in the place where the situation or circumstance is bigger and more powerful than any “thing” or any “one” we know in this earthly realm, that is when we need to remind ourselves of what the Lord spoke to us thru the prophet Jeremiah.

When we are going through a trial or a dark days and bad times, it is always very hard to imagine how things will get better. God wants us to depend on Him in every trial we face.

When we can’t, God can. When we are nothing God is something. When we are nobody God is somebody. Because God loves us as, He is willing and able to turn our situation around if we will depend on Him, trust in Him, and wait on Him.

We find an interesting story in the book of Genesis, when Pharaoh had a disturbing dream foreshadowing the seven years of famine that would come upon Egypt, and haven been told about the Hebrew slave, he was at once brought before Pharaoh. He said; “I had a dream, and no one can interpret it. But I have heard it said of you that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.” (Gen. 41:15) Joseph was the king’s last hope. I imagine the pressure on Joseph to interpret the king’s dream was intense.

Instead of making something up to humour the king, like other wise men probably did in hopes to save their neck, Joseph openly admits to Pharaoh “I cannot do it”. This clearly was not the answer Pharaoh wanted to hear. However, Joseph goes on to say “but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires.” (Gen. 41:16) “But God” — I bet those two words were music to Pharaoh’s ears. Joseph couldn’t give Pharaoh the answers he sought, but God would. Not only did God give Pharaoh the interpretation to his dream, He used Joseph mightily to prepare for the famine and exercise his gift of administration. There is nothing you may be facing today that God cannot handle. No matter the level of pain and disgrace, no matter the affliction and disease, our God and father can deal with it. I need you to know there is absolutely nothing you go through that you and God cannot together handle. In God needs are met. In God solutions are given. In God answers are found and when you can’t, God can. Cut off from me, you can do nothing (John 15:5), but with God all things are possible (Matt. 19:26).

You may be facing a seemingly impossible situation?

Maybe what you are asking God for, seems unlikely to come to pass?

Is your faith being tested?

Perhaps, you feel completely trapped, hedged in and overwhelmed, with no solution in sight. Maybe you’re confronted with a challenge where there is no resolution. Or, your heart is heavy with doubt as you can’t figure out what to do next, for there appears to be nothing you can do about what you now face and right now you’re asking yourself “How can things change for the better?” Do I have to go through this?

However, impossibilities are the platforms upon which God does His best work. After you’ve done all you can stand still and see God do what you can’t. Have faith. With man it may be impossible. But with God, all things are possible. With God everything is possible.

George Muller once said, “Faith does not operate in the realm of the possible. There is no glory for God in that which is humanly possible. Faith begins where man’s power ends.”

When God led the Israelites by way of the wilderness toward the Red Sea. Then, he guided the people around in a large circle. As the people camped at the edge of the Red Sea, they noticed that the mountains were on one side, and the sea was on the other side of them and from a distance saw Pharaoh’s army charging toward them. For them it appeared as though they were trapped with no apparent way out. Terrified, the people cried out to Moses in despair. There seemed to be no hope for them at all. It was all over. The die is cast. It was time to give up and give in. But God had another plan. God always has another plan.

But, Moses trusted God during this impossible time. Do you know Him enough to trusting Him in times of difficulty? Instead of getting upset, and giving up or giving in to desperation, He looked up to God and God looked up to Him. Moses said:

“Do not be afraid. Stand firm. And you will see the deliverance of the Lord. The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent.” (Exodus 14:13-14)

I don’t know who is listening to me. But God says do not be afraid. Stand firm and see God step in. The Lord then told Moses to tell the people of Israel to “go forward.” Moses lifted up his staff and stretched out his hand over the sea and divided it. God intervened, for sometimes He prefers to work in situations that some deem impossible. He dramatically caused a strong wind to blow. The waters parted. And the people walked on the sea floor, on dry ground, safely to the other side.

Just like the Israelites, at times you can be put into a temporary, yet difficult, place or a seemingly impossible circumstance. Yet, what looked like a mess for the Israelites, God turned into a miracle, and today He can do the same for you.

FINAL WORDS

No matter what challenge you’re encountering perhaps on your job, or the doctor’s report, or you cant see your way out of that situation, do not give on God because God wont give up on you. Stand still and look up. God is going to show up for He is standing by. Trust God, the omnipotent One. There that wait on the Lord shall mount on wings of eagles for they shall run and not faint, they shall walk and ne’er grow frail. “God will guide you continually,” (Isaiah 58:11). So, “Don’t be anxious about anything” (Philippians 4:6), “God is your strength and power,” (2 Samuel 22:33). For God promises to double blessings for your troubles.” (Zechariah 9:12)

PRAYERLord God, I humbly come before you and offer my sacrifice of thanksgiving. I thank you because you are God and beside you there is no other. I thank you because I have come to know, no matter how discouraging my circumstances may be, you can turn it all around and make a way when there is no way. Help me by your grace Lord to do my part of trusting you, while waiting for your deliverance. Amen.

BENEDICTION: May the Lord bless you and keep you;
May the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you;
May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.”’ Amen.
